Popular Lectures in June
The June meetings of the Popular Lectures series by Popular Mechanics magazine will be held at the 35MM movie theater at 47/24 Ulitsa Pokrovka in Moscow. The lectures will begin at 7:30 p.m.
On June 7, Konstantin Anokhin, professor and head of the neurobiology laboratory of the Institute of Hominal Physiology of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences will discuss how to recreate the human brain.
On June 14, listeners will learn about dark matter and wormholes from Anatoly Cherepashchuk, Russian Academy of Sciences academician, doctor of physical sciences and professor and director of the Moscow State University Sternberg Astronomical Institute.
On June 21, Vladimir Klishin, researcher with the A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution and author of more than 50 scientific papers on the physiology of dolphins, will discuss whether dolphins are more intelligent than humans, how dolphins swim faster than the known laws of hydrodynamics can explain and whether dolphin communication is really as complex as human speech.
On June 28, Vyacheslav Dubynin, doctor of biological sciences and professor of Human and Animal Physiology with the Biology Department of Moscow State University will analyze the phenomenon of genius, its dependence on genetic factors as well as its relationship to anatomy, brain function and psychological traits.
