Interim Management at Sanoma Independent Media

Sanoma Independent Media financial director Tatiana Shishkova and United Press CEO and board of directors member Tatiana Shalygina will serve together as general directors until SIM appoints a new CEO.

Former SIM CEO Elena Myasnikova announced two weeks ago that she would be continuing her career elsewhere, thus starting the process of reviewing new candidates for the post. Transitional arrangements have been made for the management of the company until a new CEO is named. Sanoma Independent Media financial director Tatiana Shishkova and United Press general director and board of directors member Tatiana Shalygina will take over management duties, with significant professional support provided by Heike Rosener, CEO of Sanoma Media Russia & CEE.

Tatiana Shishkova
Shishkova is currently the Sanoma Independent Media finance director. She joined the firm in 2000 and became a board member in June of the same year. Shishkova holds an MBA in economics. Before joining the publishing house, she held management positions in the financial departments of international companies working in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.

Tatiana Shalygina
Shalygina earned an MBA from the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil & Gas. She worked as a computer programmer for several years prior to entering the media business. Her career with Sanoma Independent Media began in 1994 as an advertising manager for The Moscow Times newspaper. She later worked as an advertising manager for Domashny Ochag, as the advertising director for Kapital newspaper and as the advertising and marketing director for the Estart.ru Internet project. In 2001, Shalygina was named director of the Independent Media office in St. Petersburg and the publisher of The St. Petersburg Times and Vedomosti (St. Petersburg edition) newspapers. She worked as the distribution director from 2003 to 2006, and as the publisher of the Gloria weekly from 2006 to 2008. Shalygina has served as the CEO of United Press and as a Sanoma Independent Media board member since 2008. She was named "best media manager of Russia" in 2005.
