Esquire Party at MMOMA

Esquire magazine held a gathering at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art of the Russian Academy of Arts on Gogol Boulevard on Feb. 17 that was timed to coincide with the opening of the “Dust and Scratches” exhibition.

Guests of the Esquire party included theatrical and film personalities, artists, photographers, advertisers and friends of the magazine. In all, more than 1,000 people attended the event. Mini sponsored both the “Dust and Scratches” exhibition and the party. Exhibition visitors were able to view photographic works by leading photographers as well as sign up for a test drive.

The “Dust and Scratches” exhibition, prepared by Esquire magazine art director and project curator Maxim Nikanorov, brings together the works of the world’s most prominent photographers, most of whom have never exhibited their works in Moscow before. The exhibition took its name from the eponymous Internet project: The “Dust and Scratches” gallery allows visitors to conveniently and quickly acquire the best works of modern photographic art at poster prices. Thanks to a partnership with Esquire magazine, hundreds of the world’s leading photographers — including winners of the World Press Photo contest and other prestigious competitions — agreed to exhibit and sell their work in the “Dust and Scratches” gallery. Project curator Maxim Nikanorov personally selected each of the thousands of photographs displayed in the gallery.

The exhibition includes works by such photographers as Piero Martinello, Steven Barritt, Jack Radcliffe, Amy Touchette, Brian Sorg, JeroenHofman, Keliy Anderson-Staley, Erik Refner, Adam Panczuk and others.
