New Appointments at Esquire

Effective Oct. 10, 2011, Dmitry Golubovsky will serve as editor-in-chief of Esquire magazine, with Andrei Loshak taking over as editorial director.

Dmitry Golubovsky graduated from the Russian State University for the Humanities with a degree in history and philology. In 2009, he earned his Ph.D. at the Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of World History with the thesis "Nonverbal communication in ancient written sources: attempts at semantic analysis." Golubovsky worked with the Kommersant newspaper and Kommersant-Vlast magazine from 2001 to 2005. He joined Esquire in 2005 and served as an editor for five years. In 2011, he became deputy editor-in-chief to Philip Bakhtin.

Andrei Loshak is a well-known television journalist and author of part of the "Profession: Reporter" series. He earned a degree in journalism from Lomonosov Moscow State University. Loshak then served as an editor for Leonid Parfyonov’s television show “The Other Day. Nonpolitical news of the week,” and then as chief editor for the "About That" talk show. Since 2000, Loshak was a screenwriter for the "Russian Empire" television series and, since 2001, has served as a correspondent for the updated version of "The Other Day" show. He won the TEFI award for best reporter in 2003. Loshak served as a regular contributor to the "Profession: Reporter" program on NTV from 2004 to 2009 and became a co-author of the "Big City" program on CTC in 2009. In 2010, he received the Rain Man award from the Silver Rain radio station for “protesting Nazism in contemporary society.” Loshak is also a writer for Esquire magazine.

Esquire magazine has been published in Russia since April 2005 and now has a circulation of 135,000 copies.
