Grazia Workshop for Young Designers
The Grazia fashion weekly presents new names in the fashion industry. It has already held competitions for young designers three times this year. Ten of the brightest and most talented contestants will have the unique opportunity to take part in the Grazia fashion show at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
A contest for novice designers was held on July 20 at the trendy Sweet Home cafe. The workshop attempts to inspire young and talented people to create new designs and to give them practical advice. Fashion industry experts were invited as guest speakers. Designer Yulia Dalakyan inspired the designers with her own example by recollecting the start of her career in the fashion business. Fashion show director Anatoly Anishchenko explained how to organize your first show. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia chief director Nikolai Zatylkin listed the main errors that young designers make at fashion weeks and how to avoid them. British Higher School of Design instructor Bernardo Paoli explained how fashion companies are structured and the tools used in promoting brands. Natasha Malets, who hosts the morning Blonde Show on First Popular Radio, engaged the celebrities in animated discussions.
At a special creative zone, Moscow Fashion Academy instructor Igor Star gave interested participants advice on design sketching and on how to create a mood board. In the beauty zone, guests were given consultations on creating an image and were treated to stylish hairdos, touch-ups from the Persona chain of image labs and impeccable manicures by the Fingers salon.
The workshop proved that celebrities are ready to go to great lengths to support aspiring youth. For example, Lyanka Gryu loves Russian designers and came to the Grazia event wearing a dress by Maxim Rappoport. Anastasia Virganskaya is also willing to don outfits by young designers for photo shoots with magazines and for major events. Natalia Kosteneva loves looking for masterpieces created by little-known designers and Emilia Vishnevskaya dreams of acting as a model at a fashion show for designers trying to establish a name.
Among those also attending the event were Sati Kazanova, Vlad Lisovets, Svetlana Konegen, Yekaterina Vulichenko, Zhanna Epple, Lena Maximova and the Assorti group. The stars received gifts from the Melvita and Lindt companies.
The event was organized with the support of the FaceGallery, which unites young and promising professionals through the Internet in order to further their effective communication in real life.
