Popular Mechanics in June

The June issue of Popular Mechanics magazine discusses what existed prior to the Big Bang one trillion years ago, the possibility of interplanetary travel by solar sails riding on force fields and why silver clouds form – a riddle modern science has been unable to solve. In “Weapons," readers will learn about the targeting systems on Russian and U.S. fighter aircraft. The magazine also answers the question of whether modern airplanes are capable of flying through volcanic ash and tests training equipment for telekinesis.

Also in this issue:

  • A military space plane: the fastest delivery service;
  • Russian rodeo: how to throw a lasso and keep hold of the bull;
  • Allergies: correcting immune system errors;
  • The head: how it was made for us.

In the “Master Class" section, pilots and photographers use radio-controlled helicopter models to create breathtaking “high" art.
