National Geographic Russia Exhibition in Ufa

National Geographic Russia magazine and the Ufa Center for Contemporary Art Oblaka (Clouds) present  “Neighbors on the Planet,” a photo exhibition of works by Andrei Gudkov.

Gudkov is a renowned wildlife photographer, regular contributor to National Geographic Russia magazine, a member of the European Union of Nature Photographers GDT, the International Journalists Union and the Russian Geographic Society, a winner of prestigious international photography competitions, a recipient of the gold medal from the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain and the holder of the Wageningen CCW medal from the Netherlands, along with many other awards. He also published a monograph in 2013 titled “Neighbors on the Planet: A Vanishing World.”

The exhibition features photographs that Gudkov took in Madagascar, Galapagos Islands, Alaska, India, Kenya and other parts of the world. It is a touching and breathtaking collection of wildlife images. Surprise and fear, tenderness and caring, love and indifference, confusion and anger – viewers will see all these human-like emotions reflected in the faces of the animals. It is an experience that is sure to leave no one unmoved.

Wild animals around the world are more vulnerable today than ever before, and many familiar species might soon disappear forever from the face of the earth. But humanity still has the chance to see animals in their natural habitats and to try to save those that are threatened.

The exhibition will run until May 15 at the Mir Shopping and Entertainment Center at Prospekt Oktyabrya 4, on the 3rd level of Gold Gallery. The exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
