New Appointment at Wedding Magazine
Wedding magazine, the market leader among wedding publications in Russia, announces the appointment of a new editor-in-chief. That position will be filled by Lika Dlugach, a prominent Moscow journalist, television host and Sanoma Independent Media employee since 2005. Dlugach began her new job on Nov. 12, immediately starting work on the new January-February 2013 issue of Wedding magazine.
“I am particularly pleased to take this new position on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the magazine,” Dlugach said. “I would very much like to see the magazine become even fresher, striking and inspiring as it enters the next decade of its life. In my long experience in the ‘arts,’ I have worked as a translator, illustrator, writer, producer, video producer and even director — but my main occupation was, and still is, as a journalist. I worked for many years as a host on MTV Russia and currently host two programs on the Mat i Ditya (Mother and Child) channel. I earned my first university degree in architecture from the Moscow State Institute of Architecture and my second — which is closer to my chosen field — from the Institute of Modern Journalism. I have had a close and warm relationship with Independent Media, working with the publishing house as an editor and video producer for more than seven years now.”
Wedding magazine publisher Elena Buryakova emphasized, “The new appointment to the magazine will in no way result in a fundamental change of editorial policy. It goes without saying that our beloved readers and business partners will continue to enjoy the very best and valuable of what has been achieved over the past several years. We thank former chief editor Natalia Kulikova for all of her hard work. Natalia now plans to develop her television career and other new projects. We believe that the team has gained a bright and creative director in Lika Dlugach, one who will bring new momentum to the development of the magazine, making it more dynamic, vital and of even higher quality. I think our readers and advertisers will already appreciate the improvements to Wedding in the nearest future,” she said.
Wedding magazine has been published since 2003 and has been part of the Sanoma Independent Media publishing house since 2008. The publication has a print run of 70,000 copies and is released and distributed throughout Russia seven times per year. The magazine is the leader in the wedding publications niche in Russia.
