Vedomosti Journalist Enters Yale as Foreign Member

Yale University selected Maxim Trudolyubov, editor of the Commentary column for Vedomosti newspaper, as a foreign member of Yale University for 2009. As the editor of a major column in one of Russia's most influential independent daily business newspapers, Trudolyubov has made a significant contribution to the development of professional journalistic standards in Russia.

Maxim Trudolyubov worked as the Commentary editor since 2003. He also serves as co-host of a weekly talk show on Ekho Moskvy radio - one of only a few independent radio stations in Russia.

The international program for membership in Yale University creates a global network of new leaders and promotes the development of international understanding. The program consists of a worldwide competition to select 14 to 18 highly qualified professionals in various spheres of activity hailing from different countries who will study at a four-month program for leaders at Yale University. The selection process is rigorous: the 15 winning members for 2009 were chosen from among 900 applicants. Members of the international program include people from mid-level positions in various areas of endeavor such as government and business organizations, mass media, nongovernmental organizations, military agencies, religious organizations and the arts.
