National Geographic And The Festival Of Japanese Culture

The festival of Japanese culture "Ways of Perfection" will take place in Moscow's Tretyakov gallery on September 19-21, 2008. National Geographic Russia is the informational sponsor of the event.

The idea behind the festival is to gather different things associated with Japanese culture. The festival unites various directions of applied arts, traditional Japanese cuisine, as well as cultural and entertainment events.

The festival's program includes the opportunity to sample Japanese dishes, hear Japanese folk music, attend exhibitions, master classes, performances of Japanese martial arts schools, shows of classical Japanese movies, etc. Guests will also be able to take origami classes, transform into geishas and take part in tea ceremonies.

National Geographic Russia will have a stand at the festival. The magazine is holding a contest called "Land of the Rising Sun" to support the event. Five contestants who send the most accurate and detailed answers to three questions, will receive a six-month subscription to National Geographic Russia and tickets to the exclusive VIP-day of the Festival of Japanese Culture. You can read the details at www.national-geographic.ru.

The festival of Japanese culture was organized by the Point Passat group.
