Vedomosti Conference In Rostov-On-Don

A new business project of Vedomosti was launched on April 17, 2008 in Rostov-on-Don. The newspaper is planning to hold a series of conferences this autumn dedicated to various subjects, from the restaurant and hotel business to modern corporate management.

The first conference of this series was titled "HR-2008. Personnel Management: Craving for Professionals". The main topic was structural changes of HR services facing shortage of personnel in the condition of fast business growth.

More than 100 representatives of southern Russian companies came to the conference. There were representatives from Vyshaya Liga, Donskoy Tabak, Renaissance Insurance, plant Konord, Russian Railways, World Class, Atlantis-Pak, Bizon Yug, Gedon, Evrodon, Ekolas, and also many managers from HR agencies.

Approximately 20 specialists and HR directors from Rostov, Krasnodar and Stavropol companies (Rostvertol, Vympelkom, Stavropolsky Broiler, Kargill Yug, AAA, Vash Sivetnik, Rosgosstrakh-Yug and others) made their reports.

Is personnel shortage a myth or reality? Which businesses does it affect? What is the role of HR departments and what methods shall an HR director apply to choose personnel? Is training worth spending money on and how can you minimize the risk of losing a newly trained employee? All of these issues and many more were discussed at the 1st annual conference HR-2008.

The participants were impressed with the organization of the event and said they will be happy to take part in future Vedomosti conferences.
