Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards 2012

The ninth annual Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards ceremony was held on Sept. 13 in the pleasant atmosphere of the new restaurant Schastye na Kryshe (Happiness on the Roof). The event brought together the award nominees, chief editors of glossy magazines and the members of the celebrity jury: Polina Gagarina, Glukoza, Leonid Rudenko and Snezhina Kulova. Per tradition, the ceremony was held over a business breakfast, allowing guests to enjoy gourmet appetizers, delicious homemade cookies and unique deserts by the house chef.

Each of the winners received a Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards statuette in characteristic Cosmo pink and bouquets of fragrant flowers from the Fairy Rose company. All guests received a sweet compliment from Sweeterella — an original set of handmade chocolates — along with stylish and trendy jewelry from Juvalia&You. They could also visit a nail bar featuring Minx nail lacquers from the Beautyu exclusive distributor. Celebrity guests were also given a complimentary certificate for unique spa treatments by the Asia Beauty Spa salon.

The Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards (CBA) are the Russian equivalent of the U.S. awards given by Cosmopolitan and Cosmopolitan Beauty. This year’s CBA honors were given to the 21 best new perfume and cosmetic products to hit the market between August 2011 and August 2012.

Editors, readers and a celebrity jury selected winners in each of seven categories. Three winners are chosen in each category. The first winner was chosen by an independent jury, the second by the Cosmopolitan and Cosmopolitan Beauty editorial staff, and the third by readers, who submitted their votes through the magazines’ websites. And for the first time, a special prize was awarded for the best beauty blogger of the year.

The Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards jury includes Russia’s most famous actresses, singers, TV program hosts and designers. This year’s jury members were as follows:

Polina Gagarina – singer, songwriter and composer; chose best hair care product;
Yelena Kuletskaya – model and TV program hostess; chose best facial care product;
Yulia Peresild – film and stage actress; chose best women’s fragrance;
Glukoza – singer; chose best body care product;
Vika Gazinskaya – clothing designer; chose best design;
Snezhina Kulova – TV program hostess and producer; chose best makeup product;
Leonid Rudenko – DJ, chose best men’s fragrance.
