Popular Mechanics in October

Why will the people of the future refuse the services of firefighters and translators, but will need professionally-trained genetic therapists and preventative police? The answer to these questions is found in the October issue of Popular Mechanics.

Articles in the “Science" section discuss programmable crystals, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence and effective anti-aging methods. In “Technology," readers will learn what is inside an oceangoing superliner, why Russia built a gas turbine train engine and the world’s heaviest truck-mounted crane.

Also in this issue: the X-Factor competition of super-economical cars; a special article on three-dimensional printers and ingenious machines that work with 3D models; an amazing story from Vladimir Vasilyev titled “Raven in the Pocket;" and an interview with Vitaly Petrov – the first, and so far only Russian to drive Formula 1 racing cars.

A national advertising campaign will support the release of the October issue of Popular Mechanics. It includes network and local radio spots, priority displays of the magazine where print media is sold in Moscow and cities with a population of one million or more, banner ads and content advertising on the Internet.
