Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards
The Fifth Annual Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards (CBA) ceremony was held on September 17 at Kalina Bar.
The competition is the Russian analogue of the American contest by the same name, and is judged by Cosmopolitan and Cosmopolitan Beauty Magazines. Awards were given to the best perfume and cosmetics products that appeared on the market between August 2007 and August 2008. The 21 best products earned CBA awards.
Throughout the course of the next year, winners in each category will have the right to use the CBA logo in all of their ATL and BTL promotions and advertising, on product packaging, souvenirs, point of sale products, etc. They will have the right to state that that particular product or products earned the highest rating from Cosmopolitan’s objective and professional committee.
Products will be judged in seven categories:
Best Fragrance for Women
Best Facial Care Product
Best Hair Care Product
Best Body Care Product
Best Make Up Product
Best Fragrance for Men
Best Design
Three winners were chosen in each category. The first winner was chosen by an independent jury, the second by the Cosmopolitan and Cosmopolitan Beauty editorial staff, and the third by readers, who submitted their votes through the magazines’ websites.
The Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards jury included the most famous and beautiful actresses, female athletes and TV anchorwomen in Russia. This year’s jury members were:
Olga Shelest, TV anchor, who chose the Best Facial Care Product;
Svetlana Khodchenkova, actress, who chose the Best Hair Care Product;
Lyaisan Utyasheva, gymnast - Best Body Care Product;
Natalya Podolskaya, singer - Best Make Up Product;
Yana Churikova, TV anchor and editor in chief of Viva! Magazine - Best Female Fragrance;
Artyom Tkachenko, actor and the only male jury member - Best Fragrance for Men;
Irina Chernyak, stylist, editor in chief of Collezioni Magazine - Best Packaging, as part of the Best Design category.
