New Chief Editor at National Geographic Traveler

Andrei Palamarchuk has been named editor-in-chief of National Geographic Traveler magazine. He replaces Alexander Zheleznyak, who left in June 2015.

Palamarchuk has worked with the Russian National Geographic team since 2012. He was appointed deputy editor-in-chief of National Geographic Russia magazine in July 2014 and continues in that capacity alongside his new position.

Palamarchuk has worked as a journalist and editor since 1998, in both print and online media, heading the website of Europa Plus radio station and holding senior positions at the magazines Hello!, We Plus (the Russian edition of U.S. Weekly), Antenna Telesem and Star Hit.

According to Palamarchuk, “To travel is to not only get to know the world around us. It is one of the best ways to learn about ourselves as well. Those of us on the editorial board of National Geographic Traveler will continue doing what we have always done – taking readers on a fascinating path of discovery.
