Harvard Business Review – Russia at Strelka

A series of short lectures and round tables discussing the impact of technological advances on urban life were held on July 9 at the Strelka Institute of Media, Architecture and Design. Harvard Business Review – Russia took part in the event.

The meeting brought together representatives of leading companies in the fields of new technologies, media and mobile communications. They shared their vision of a future hyper-communication-based city in the context of a developing knowledge-based economy.

The theme of the event was “Life in a technopolis: new technologies, new dynamics.” Round table participants included Denis Sverdlov (Yota), Dmitry Repin (Skolkovo), Phil Eckhart (Apple), Dmitry Falaleyev (Harvard Business Review – Russia), Ilya Oskolkov-Tsentsiper (Strelka), Mikhail Ivanov (MIF), Alexander Senatorov (Kopernik), Konstantin Gribak (Cisco) and Alexander Pirozhenko (Economic Development Ministry). They discussed the following questions: Where is the line between work and play, and between home and office in the modern world? What is the advantage of being in constant communication with others? Which problems are posed by the accessibility of new media and how does that new social phenomenon influence urban development?
