Popular Mechanics School at Gorky Park

Popular Mechanics magazine and the Gorky Park Green School are launching a new educational project for children.

The Popular Mechanics Schools will interest children aged 6-12 who are forever asking: “How does that work?” and “Why?” The lessons will look at what makes the things, equipment, devices, people, animals, and birds around us. Physicist and educator Ilya Semerikov will help students use practical methods to find answers to the most interesting questions. For example, participants will build a speaker from plates, construct a water propulsion rocket and attempt to make a pneumatic gun from paper in the next lesson.

Classes will be held on Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The first lesson takes place on September 25.
