Independent Media Gives Books to Children

For more than 15 years, the Independent Media Sanoma Magazines publishing house (IMSM) has supported the Illustrated Books for Young Blind Children charitable fund.

Thanks to the participation of IMSM in the books for children program, between 1994 and 2009, 129 children with visual impairments received subscriptions to the full-color, illustrated and embossed Perception of Illustrations Atlas. The book is made so as to address the peculiarities of the visual and tactile perception of images of children who are blind or who have visual impairments.

In 2010, the company will fund the publishing of forty books for visually impaired children from Kindergarten Number 7 in Yeisk, a city in the Krasnodar region.
